Tonight We Unite Tour - Blog 1 (7.10.12)

So I’m about a week and some change into the ‘Tonight We Unite Tour’- an incredible punk dream tour including the Casualties, Nekromantix, Down By Law, Lower Class Brats, Flatfoot 56, and my band The Sheds.
This is our first big package tour and we couldn’t be more fortunate to have it with such great bands, important to different sub-genres of punk rock.
So far this has definitely been one of the best tours I’ve been a part of, we have a really fun group of people traveling in our van for this one. Our friend Jon Silva from Texas is along with us slinging merch and our good friend from home, Carly Hoskins has been with us since the Sacramento show shooting/documenting the tour. Other newcomers include our new 2nd guitarist Tony Cappocchi, and our buddy John Alaimo who is filling in on bass for my brother Evan. We definitely miss Evan on this one and wish he could be out with us but John is doing a great job filling the void for the time being. Evan will finally be back with us for the Strung Out tour in late September!
We’ve already made some great friends in the Casualties, Down By Law, and Lower Class Brats camps as well as Flatfoot 56 who unfortunately has been off the tour since Sacramento (they’ll be back starting in Minnesota).
One thing I’ve noticed about the crowds for these shows is how accepting they have been of us. The punx really do appreciate live music even if it isn’t necessarily what they typically listen to. Everyone has been super welcoming at the shows and seem to genuinely appreciate what we’re doing and that’s definitely an awesome feeling.
